There are many crafty things I like to do. Just to name a few, there is Scrap booking, Quilting, Writing, and most recently I am finishing up a latch hook thing that Morgan so desperately wanted to do. That is until she did a few hooks. Anyway, I love to quilt but it is rather time consuming and so I only quilt for super special occasions. I like the type of quilting that actually requires your hand to hold a needle. Not the type that you sew a few squares together and send it soaring through a machine and then wa-la you are done the entire thing in an afternoon. No I like to commit myself to the challenge - and spend the time thinking about the things that the quilt will possibly be a part of. From keeping a baby warm, spending tummy time on the floor, snuggling with a loved one, and even when it gets tied around the child's neck and becomes a cape. I like to ignore the reality of vomit, poop, pee, and mud puddles. I have been working on a quilt for my neighbors daughter Kaitlyn. Time got away from me and so I had to present the quilt at Julie's shower followed by a "yeah, I am going to need that back so I can finish it". I thought I would have PLENTY of time until the lil dear came 3 weeks early! So now that she is a month old, I have finished it. Yahoo! I selfishly want for it to be a special blanket for her, but most of all I want her to know that someone somewhere loves her, was blessed by watching her grow in her Mommy's tummy, and will be praying for her often.
That looks awesome! You're so good at that! I would never ever have the patience!
